Identified - Fibre break impacting services in Penrith NSW area since 11th March 18:00.
Damage caused by vandals/theft.
1km of Fibre cable is being hauled currently. As soon as this has been completed the fibre will be spliced at each end and services will start coming online. Delays encountered due to proximity to Train line.

Next Telecom will be performing routing changes to move Internet Traffic to new hardware within our Core Network in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
There is no expected impact to customer services.

Unresolved incident: Fibre Outage - Penrith NSW.

Resolved - The carrier completed hardware replacements of failed equipment in the Data Centre and services restored at 2:10am 12/03.
Engineers are monitoring and reviewing the cause with the carrier and vendor further today.
Monitoring indicates services have all restored however if you are still experiencing issues please call our team on 1300 006 398.

Update - Technician is picking up replacement hardware from Chatswood NSW and returning to the Data Centre at Macquarie Park to perform full hardware replacement of Core NTU that has failed in the Carrier's network. Current ETA 22:00.

Identified - The upstream carrier has technicians attending the Data Centre and Exchange to troubleshoot and resolve this outage in the upstream carrier core network. ETA 19:30 Sydney time.

Investigating - Intermittent SMS Inbound and Outbound via SMS Gateway. Note Mobile Services are not impacted.

Our team has identified that one of our upstream carriers is experiencing reduced performance. We’re already working on shifting SMS traffic to another carrier to restore normal service as quickly as possible.
